Steadfast Hymns was founded by Peter Schlaybach in 2025. It was born out of a need for worship music that doesn’t shy away from unanswered questions and struggles of faith. No matter how difficult the trial, Scripture has promises to give us hope.

These songs are generally written in a modern hymn style. “Songs of Inheritance”, the debut album, was recorded in Nashville April 2025 and produced by Jeremy Casella.

The hope is to offer songs of compositional beauty that are accessible to churches and musicians while delivering lyrics of theological depth.

More About Peter

Growing up in a musical home where artists such as Phil Keaggy, Michael Card and Eden’s Bridge were the background to many days, Peter began writing hymns at the age of six and became more serious about it after a personal revival around the age of fifteen. He has had the opportunity to learn hymn writing techniques from Keith and Kristyn Getty and has joined their choir at Carnegie Hall and in Nashville.

He currently lives in a small cottage in Pennsylvania where he grows a garden and refurbishes vintage barometers in his free time.
